The coming war in Iran?

It wouldn't take more than a dozen Hiroshima size atom bombs to serve as an effective nuclear deterrent to America, which could not risk the destruction of any of its major cities. That's why any attempt by Iran to develop nuclear weapons would lead to a war with America. Will the Iranian government try to acquire them? This clerical government is still inspired by the principles of the Iranian revolution and revolutionaries are almost always unpredictable and truculent. It will be a close call. .

Do you know how 8th graders act sometimes. It was prob a big joke for the kids to bring in a bunch of pennies and annoy the lunch ladies. Im not saying I didnt do similar stupid things at that age and im not saying what they did was horrible because it was not, but it was a prank and it was with intent to disrupt school lunch so they should get some type of punishment

Six Flags has a strategy for season opening

The coasters will be rolling at Six Flags Over Texas this weekend as the park opens for its 47th season.

But with rising gas prices and a slowing economy, the theme-park chain faces the challenge of convincing families that Six Flags is worth the price of admission.

Chief Executive Mark Shapiro spoke with the Star-Telegram on Thursday about what's new at the park, the status of Six Flags Over Texas' liquor-license application and how a recession might affect the company.

"We know the plight of Mom and Dad this summer, and we want to be the solution for the tighter wallet they might have," Shapiro said.

What can visitors expect at the Six Flags parks in 2008?

I'm really excited. We're on plan. We're on budget and on time. We're not just investing in the theme parks.

St. Charles police on alert after rash of vehicle, home burglaries

A recent spike in burglaries prompted St. Charles police today to put residents on alert.

Since Dec. 23, there have been six reported vehicle and home burglaries, which "may be tied together," in the city's northeast and northwest areas, police spokesman Paul McCurtain said. The incidents all took place in the morning or early afternoon, while the victims were away.

"In some cases, the offenders have forced entry into the residence," police said in a statement. "In others, the suspect made entry into vehicles parked in the driveway and have taken personal items," including garage door openers to get inside houses.

Residents are asked to keep their vehicles locked and personal belongings out of plain view. They also should call 911 immediately if they notice suspicious activity.
