Recovery Tough for Mo. City Council
He survived the shooting attack only after throwing chairs at Thornton to fend him off before police arrived. "Connie Karr's death is all of our worst nightmare," Hessel said. "It is something that I live over and over." Besides Karr, killed in the rampage were Officer William Biggs Jr., Officer Tom Ballman, Public Works Director Ken Yost and Councilman Michael H.T. Lynch. Thornton had a long history of fighting with city officials over a litany of code violations, fines and citations. .
ELI CASH’S SHOW IS ALL MONEY
Live area music shows really come into their own when the bands are on, the crowd is stoked and the electricity crackles through the air. On Nov. 17, the OneSixNine hosted one of those shows. The strange thing is that you never know as a listener, or as a musician, when shows like this will come together. Certainly, there was nothing in the air beforehand that portended anything of the sort. But to paraphrase an old sports line, that is why they play the shows. Performance volatility is common with up and coming bands. I mean, take a fancy band like Boston or Kansas or Loverboy and you know exactly what you're going to get on a nightly basis. But take some kids with a few loud amps and limitless dreams, and it can be feast or famine. .
Democratic Debate: Obama Wins Fixed Fight
Coming back from the break, Hillary was helped back into her seat by a stagehand, and I could swear I heard her say, "Cut me, Mick, cut me!"Obama scored big when they played the "Celestial Choir" clip (by "mistake"), and remarked with aplomb, "Sounds good!"Russert did launch into a couple of ridiculous "Gotcha's" on Obama, along the lines of, "Farrakhan endorsed you, your pastor likes Farrakhan, doesn't that then mean you have Cooties?"Obama answered well, but Hillary went back at him and forced him to reject Farrakhan's endorsement, an unusual surrender for one of these debates. These two candidates agree on much of the substance, so much of these debates rest on the perception game. Obama was cool and confident, while Hillary was clearly pressing. The only silver lining here is the possibility that the moderators' unbalanced pressure on Hillary engenders support for her, a thin hope indeed.Update: TFitz, I saw you on the preview, hope you make it here.
Mavericks 98, Grizzlies 83
Leading up to that first game, it had been a little bit of a circus. Now that we can concentrate on the game of basketball, that's what I have to do." Josh Howard added 20 points. Nowitzki missed only one of his nine shots in the game, while shooting 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. Kidd's 15 assists was a season high for a Dallas player. The Mavericks had a season-high 32 in the game. "We still had 21 turnovers, but 32 assists, that's pretty good for us," Dallas coach Avery Johnson said. "We'll take that." Rudy Gay led Memphis with 18 points, while Hakim Warrick had 15 points and nine rebounds. Kyle Lowry finished with 12 points, Mike Conley added 11 and Javaris Crittenton had 10 points. Dallas had lost four straight road games, but a stop in Memphis can cure most road woes.
Viewer Comments On Gun Control
I had a 3 hour class on laws and hand gun use. 2. I then had to complete a test on the information presented in the class. 3. I had to hit a target 12" by 12" at 15 feet with at least 90% accuracy. 3. I had a city back ground check. 4. I had a county background check. 5. I had a state/FBI background check. 6. I was finger printed and this was sent to the state capital that issued my permit. The training is there and with experience a person can carry, and provide some additional safety for people around them. To add safety for a place that is as populated as this state having this along with a visit or two with a psychologist could make for a very secure CCW for the state! I think that it is time for Illinois to catch up with the times. --Anonymous Stricter gun control will not keep our students in schools completely safe.
